International Museum Day 2025

International Museum Day 2025

On May 18th, the Maria Callas Museum actively participates in the celebrations of International Museum Day 2025, themed “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities”. At a time when museums are redefining their role as vital social pillars of development and creating new ways to operate and communicate with the public, the museum opens its doors with free admission for all throughout the day, inviting visitors to explore the world of Maria Callas and take part in its activities.

In line with this year’s theme, which emphasizes intangible cultural heritage, the power of youth, and new technologies, the Maria Callas Museum invited individuals aged 16 to 106 to become storytellers of their own personal guided tour. Participants in the action “POV: My Take on Maria Callas Museum” visited the exhibition, drew inspiration from Callas’ personality and career, and by May 18th will have created short video reels to share on their social media, presenting the museum through their own unique lens.

The videos created will be screened on Sunday, May 18th, in the museum’s event hall with free entry. Participants will also have the opportunity to talk about their experience and creative process with the audience. This initiative offers everyone a platform to express themselves, discover, and showcase their own perspective on Maria Callas and the museum.
