To mark the commemoration of Maria Callas’ passing on 16 September, a significant date that the Museum honors each year with special events, two dedicated screenings will be held.
This year, the Maria Callas Museum, in collaboration with the British Council Greece, welcomes the internationally acclaimed and multi-award-winning British director of opera, television and music documentaries, Tony Palmer, for a unique tribute to Maria Callas.
The director will attend two special screenings of his landmark documentary “CALLAS”, a work he began while the great diva was still alive and which was completed and released after her death.
Audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience the film in the presence of its creator, who will share insights both on this work and on the art of the music documentary, a genre in which he is considered one of the world’s leading voices.
