World Music Day – Listening Club “Songs of Summer”
To celebrate World Music Day, the Maria Callas Museum invites audiences to a special Listening Club dedicated to the “Songs of Summer.”
Celebrated every year on June 21, World Music Day highlights the power of music to connect people, sounds, and stories from around the world. In 2026, the occasion also coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, marking the official beginning of summer.
Just before noon, on the third floor of the Maria Callas Museum, music becomes the starting point for a summer gathering filled with memories, imagery, and storytelling.
Radio producer George Florakis (Third Programme, Kosmos) selects some of the most iconic summer songs in music history and shares the stories behind them.
