International Women’s Day at the Maria Callas Museum: Rainbow Mermaids meet Haris Alexiou
To mark International Women’s Day, on Sunday, March 8, the Maria Callas Museum opens a conversation on female creativity, welcoming the distinctive Rainbow Mermaids for a special live discussion with Haris Alexiou. Together, they will reflect on expression, talent, career, and art, offering a broader perspective on the experience of womanhood in a constantly evolving world.
Rainbow Mermaids, the drag duo formed by Mystic van Rouge and Katina Bella, have gained wide recognition through their eponymous vidcast, where they host leading figures from the Greek cultural scene and beyond. Combining humour, boldness, and thoughtful dialogue, they craft contemporary portraits of artists and prominent personalities, while also engaging with themes of identity, gender, and social change.

Haris Alexiou is celebrated as one of the most influential singers and singer-songwriters in Greek music. Over the course of her remarkable and long-standing career, she has collaborated with nearly all major composers, lyricists, and performers across generations. Her work has been presented on renowned stages around the world and has received significant distinctions. In recent years, she has also been active in acting.
This meeting of three compelling artistic voices -each representing different forms of expression- carries particular symbolic resonance. Inspired by the cultural space of the Museum and the legacy of Maria Callas, an enduring symbol of artistic excellence and resilience, the event honours women through a dialogue on art and life.
Important note:
The event will be held in Greek and will take place in the presence of an audience.
The conversation will be filmed and published on Wednesday, April 1, on the Rainbow Mermaids YouTube channel, allowing a wider audience to experience it.
For filming purposes, audience participation during the discussion will not be possible.
