Lighting Design
DESCRIPTION
Lighting Design Masterclass with Christina Thanasoula
Light is one of the most powerful and instinctive expressive tools in performance, playing a vital role in shaping the visual and emotional language of a production. Through light we create atmosphere, define space, emphasize emotion, and guide the audience’s focus.
This masterclass offers an inspiring introduction to lighting as a medium of dramaturgy shedding light, both literally and figuratively, on the creative process of Lighting Design, with a particular focus on its application in opera.
MASTERCLASS OBJECTIVE
Over the course of two sessions, participants will be introduced to the principles and practices of stage lighting design.
