Songs from the Third Floor \u2013 Kalliopi Mitropoulou<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”4\/6″][vc_column_text]At the next stop of the series, Songs from the Third Floor<\/em> welcomes an artist who moves effortlessly across different musical worlds. Kalliopi Mitropoulou<\/strong>, grounded in classical training yet constantly branching into contemporary, experimental, and cinematic territories, brings with her a rich and multifaceted musical identity.<\/p>\n

In her conversation with George Florakis<\/strong>, they will explore the creative process, her many roles as a musician, stage fright, and the ongoing search for a sense of belonging. Throughout the evening, the audience will hear a curated selection of works from recordings she has contributed to, unreleased live material, and music written for theatre and film. Some of her own compositions will also be performed live, featuring piano, violin, and percussion. On percussion, George Kokotsakis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Maria Callas Museum Live Music Sessions<\/strong><\/p>\n

From January to June 2026, the Maria Callas Museum presents the Songs from the Third Floor<\/em> series: a monthly encounter with contemporary Greek music creation, curated by radio producer Giorgos Florakis (ERT Third Programme, Kosmos 93.6). Set in a unique atmosphere on the museum\u2019s third floor, each session features a different artist and takes the audience into a different musical genre, turning each evening into a ritual-like experience: a dialogue around music, the personal story of each creator, and the immediacy of live performance.<\/p>\n

Biography \/ Kalliopi Mitropoulou<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kalliopi Mitropoulou moves across a wide musical spectrum, combining a strong classical background with a versatile contemporary practice. She studied at the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and went on to complete a Master\u2019s degree in Violin Performance in Germany under Helge Slaatto. She has collaborated with major orchestras including the G\u00fcrzenich Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Contemporary Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the orchestra of the Greek National Opera. Alongside her work as a violinist, she has performed as a soprano in opera productions and is also active as a vocalist in projects such as Echo Tides, Erland Cooper, and Oi Va Voi. She recently released her debut album Between, while also composing music for dance and film. She is a founding member of the neoclassical experimental duo T U R Q U O I S E and the ensemble SIBiLIMA, and has collaborated with artists such as Pan Pan, Vassi\u0142ina, Logout, and mmmd.<\/p>\n
