If you\u2019d like to explore two of Athens\u2019 most important museums after dark, you\u2019ve made the right choice! If you love mystery, aren\u2019t afraid of the dark, are fascinated by old factories, and are enchanted by music and theatre\u2014you\u2019ve definitely chosen well. On Saturday, 14 February, a unique experience awaits you: not in one museum, but in two; not by day, but by night.<\/p>\n

Because theatre thrives on light and energy\u2014and because light gives theatrical art an entirely new dimension\u2014this night brings them together to create something magical for children and adults alike. Two much-loved museums of the City of Athens, the Industrial Gas Museum at Technopolis and the Maria Callas Museum, join forces once again to offer an immersive experience\u00a0for families with children aged 6\u201310<\/strong>, inspired by the power of light and the magic of theatre.<\/p>\n

The evening begins at the Industrial Gas Museum at 18:00. Wear something bright and join us as we shed light on the mysteries of the old gasworks. Participants will discover Greece\u2019s first energy-producing factory. The machinery, lingering scents, and memories of the people who once worked there transport us back in time.<\/p>\n

The former factory space comes alive, becoming the perfect setting for the immersive mystery game\u00a0\u201cAll in the Light.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Young and old alike explore the gas production line, uncover the factory\u2019s most hidden corners, and illuminate its darkest energy stories. Are we done? Not at all\u2026 step by step, we build our own closed-loop energy system.<\/p>\n

Once we\u2019ve unlocked the secrets of Athens\u2019 old gasworks, we all travel together by coach to the heart of the city\u2014by now glowing with evening lights. At the Maria Callas Museum, we discover the magic of opera and the life and work of the great diva. A light meal awaits to recharge us before we dive into solving the most intriguing\u00a0\u201cOpera Mysteries.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the Maria Callas Museum, as night falls, the collections come alive through play, mystery, and imagination. When the museum closes, exhibits begin to whisper stories, and Maria Callas\u2019 legendary performances seem ready to spring to life. Suddenly, something disrupts the opera\u2014and children, together with their accompanying adults, are invited to uncover what happened through roles, riddles, and missions. As they move through the museum, they experience the world of opera and the iconic diva in a hands-on way. The experience concludes with an art workshop, where participants create their own stage, characters, and light-filled stories\u2014turning the museum visit into a true artistic adventure.<\/p>\n

And then it\u2019s time to say good night! We bring the evening to a close together in an iconic museum setting, with hot chocolate and music.<\/p>\n

The programme is implemented with the support of\u00a0Fysiko Aerio \u2013 Hellenic Energy Company<\/strong>, major sponsor of the Industrial Gas Museum. Greece\u2019s longest-established energy provider returns to its roots and, by honouring its long history, actively contributes to highlighting the country\u2019s industrial history and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
