Songs from the Third Floor: A new live music sessions series by the Maria Callas Museum <\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”4\/6″][vc_column_text]In January 2026, the Maria Callas Museum launches \u201cSongs from the Third Floor\u201d<\/em>,<\/strong>\u00a0a monthly encounter with contemporary Greek musical creation, curated by radio producer\u00a0George Florakis<\/strong>\u00a0(ERT Third Programme, Kosmos 93.6).<\/p>\n

Following their already successful collaboration through the hosting of the Christmas Listening Club in 2024 and 2025, the Maria Callas Museum and George Florakis join forces once again, welcoming artists and audiences to a new series of live music sessions. In a distinctive setting on the museum\u2019s third floor, each session hosts a different artist and takes us into a different musical genre, turning every evening into an immersive, almost ritual-like experience: a dialogue around music, each creator\u2019s personal story, and the immediacy of live performance.<\/p>\n

This new initiative is part of the Museum\u2019s artistic programme, which aspires not only to serve as a guardian of the art and legacy of the great soprano Maria Callas, but also as an open space for music and contemporary artistic dialogue.<\/p>\n

Biography \/ Giorgos Florakis<\/strong><\/p>\n

Giorgos Florakis has been working in radio since 1990, having broadcast on stations such as Jazz FM, Icho FM, and 902. For the past 22 years, he has presented\u00a0\u201cThe Third Programme Mornings\u201d<\/em>\u00a0on ERT\u2019s Third Programme, and for the past five years,\u00a0\u201cNotes of a Monomaniac\u201d<\/em>\u00a0on Kosmos.<\/p>\n

He began writing in 1991 for\u00a0Pop+Rock<\/em>\u00a0magazine and has since collaborated with publications such as\u00a0Difono<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Zoo<\/em>, as well as newspapers including\u00a0Eleftherotypia<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Ta Nea<\/em>. Today, he maintains the column\u00a0\u201cNotes of a Monomaniac\u201d<\/em>\u00a0in Athens Voice, writing on music and literature.<\/p>\n

Since 2003, he has coordinated workshops in Radio Production, Creative Writing, Story Writing and Storytelling, and Mixed Media. He also curates the Reading Club of the Shakespeare Book Caf\u00e9 and has founded Greece\u2019s first Listening Club.<\/p>\n
