{"id":8217,"date":"2025-05-29T10:36:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mariacallasmuseum.gr\/?p=8217"},"modified":"2025-05-29T10:41:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:41:43","slug":"european-music-day-at-the-maria-callas-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mariacallasmuseum.gr\/en\/european-music-day-at-the-maria-callas-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"European Music Day at the Maria Callas Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"center\">European Music Day at the Maria Callas Museum<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For the second consecutive year, the Maria Callas Museum and the Friends of Music Society join forces, this time celebrating European Music Day with an open event for all, right in the heart of Athens.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, June 20, the neighborhood surrounding the Museum\u2014directly across from its entrance, in Mitropoleos Square\u2014will be filled with the sounds and colors of a group of young and promising musicians, performing a vibrant and unexpected repertoire.<\/p>\n<p>The Music Ensembles of Camerata Junior \u2013 The Friends of MusicYouth Orchestra and orchestra In Residence of the Athens Concert Hall \u2013 invite the public to an afternoon musical journey spanning from Baroque to the 20th century, with works by Sibelius, Vanhal, Faur\u00e9, Mansell, and Mikis Theodorakis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Orchestra Bio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Camerata Junior \u2013 The Friends of MusicYouth Orchestra and orchestra In Residence at the Athens Concert Hall was founded in 2010 as part of the Society\u2019s educational programs. Its aim is to nurture the musical skills of young talented musicians, cultivate a spirit of collaboration, and educate them through the invaluable experience of ensemble music-making.<\/p>\n<p>Since October 2018, the orchestra has been under the direction of distinguished conductor Nikos Chaliasas.
