Over the course of two days of intensive study with a pianist and a small ensemble, each student will have a total of 80 minutes of conducting time. On the first day, the students will work on symphonic repertoire without singers. On the second day, they will delve deeper into the repertoire, with an emphasis on operatic works and rehearsing with singers. Two singers from the vocal masterclass will collaborate with the conductors and in the final stage of the masterclass, there will be a public presentation of the repertoire at the Maria Callas Museum, with the participating singers. The masterclass will include theoretical guidance, the transmission of essential knowledge, as well as hands-on work on selected pieces.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Masterclass Objective<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The aim of the masterclass is to provide students with a practical insight into the conductor\u2019s role in the opera world. The masterclass will accommodate up to 5 active participants and will be open for observation by 20 auditors. Applicants must complete the online application form by October 5, attaching a link to a 10-minute video in which the candidate conducts an orchestra or two pianos. He composed his first works at the age of 12 and began conducting at 15, laying the foundation for his professional career as a composer and conductor. He studied music theory, composition, and orchestral conducting at the University of Music in Stuttgart, and continued his conducting studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, where he graduated with distinction.In 2021, he received the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Special Prize<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> at the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Khachaturian International Conducting Competition<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> in Yerevan, Armenia, and was awarded the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Karolos Koun Prize<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> as <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>&#8220;Young Artist of the Year 2022\/23.&#8221; <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Tartanis currently serves as <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Principal Conductor of the Lower Bavarian Philharmonic<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> and has been <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">First Kapellmeister at the Freiburg Theater<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> since the 2019\/20 season. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">He worked for several years as musical assistant to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Teodor Currentzis<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, from whom he received formative artistic influence.
